Good Points

Rides So Well !!! A real Pleasure every time!!!!
Looks & Feels like a bike should Feel!!!
Seat is like a sofa!!! Bum never feels numb!!
GETS SO MANY LOOKS!!!! SO SO SO MANY!!!!!

Bad Points

Can be difficult to reverse out of the garage - especially if there is a tiny step/lip or incline!!
I went to my local town centre and parked her face forward on the side of the road. What I should have done is reversed her into the space - as there was a bit of a gradient towards the pavement!! Only having owned this beautiful baby for about 5 days - I was not used to the weight!!! About to leave - and - posing!!! - I put on my helmet and gloves!! Started her up!! And put my leg over!!
It was then that I realised I could not reverse her to ride away!!! I tried legs astride and pushing her back!!! NO WAY!!! Then this voice from this BIG MUSCLE guy said "would you like a hand mate??? giggle giggle!!!" To which I said - yes please!!! he pushed the bike back with me sitting on her!! And ..... I was red faced but away!!!! :)))))))) I know for next time to reverse!!!!
Can also drink a bit!!! A mean Bike with a thirst!! Does about 30mpg!!

General Comments

Well - what can I say???
Put it this way - after 25 years of not having a bike - mid-life crisis took over and I bought myself an XJR1300 and a Kawasaki VN800. Simply put - since July this year - the Kawasaki has done 200 miles from new and this Wonderful Beautiful Gorgeous XJR has done over 1500 miles!!!
I say to myself - tomorrow i will take the Kawasaki - but each and every time - I do straight for my Yammy!!! the only time I take the Kawa is for short spin after I have had my dose of adrenalin dished out by the Yamaha!!

Does that answer the question???

Can anyone else better 30mpg? I am after a Yamaha XJR (silver or black, and up to £3750), but if fuel consumption is that bad I might have to rethink - I want it for more than a once a month weekend blast.

    Hello
The Yamaha XJR1300 doesn't feel so bad at 30mpg. Every refill costs between £12 to £14 (depending on the price of petrol). So paying for the high consumption in small instalments makes it feel easier!!

The car needs about £45 to fill it up, and it does over 40 to the gallon, but I feel the pinch when I dish out £45 to fill up!!

I tell you what - the ride is well worth the price you pay for petrol!!

    I agree with Muscle Biker!!

The XJR is pretty much worth it, and to be quite honest I don't think I've ridden a bike as good as that for a long time (I've been riding for 12 years now). So I think it's a small price to pay (30gpm) for the joy of the ride. At the end of the day a bike is never a choice of reason, it is more of an impulse and/or personal preference.
