Needs some refurbishment.
We arrived at 2 and, were welcomed by the Bluecoats providing children's entertainment, firstly, we decided to look round, as we had another 2 hours till check in. We looked round The Queen Victoria Pub, the arcade, and Stardust, in Stardust were Bluecoats, singing on stage. Next we decided to look in the leisure zone, there were about 5 snooker tables, and behind the desk was a timetable, listing all the children's activities on offer, and the time they were on, all the activities were free. There were also a few shops around, Londis, providing basics and not much value, Fashion Spot, which was a game of spot, the fashion! Many of the clothes on offer were for older ladies, and a few of the items were Bench or Elle, but there were only a few. Also there was Snappys, where you could buy photos taken on camp, and other photography needs. Just past the main gates was Hire Time, where you could hire bikes, skates trikes, and pedal bikes, that looked like quads, but be warned, most things require a £5 deposit, as well as the hire charge (on a list on the door) Next to Stardust bar was Tricks and Treats, a very small shop, mainly filled with merchandise. We tried out the crazy golf, nothing to get excited about, especially because the holes had mud and water in, so you had to put your foot on them, so the ball would not go in properly. When it came to checking in, the staff at reception, were friendly, and gave us a room key, and showed us directions, on a map, which we were allowed to keep. The chalet was a classic and was very small it also smelled musty. At 11 0 clock, we decided to go to bed, but we couldn't get to sleep because of noisy neighbours, who settled at about 1 am, and then were up again at 6am. After a second night of this, we spoke to the retail manager, who explained that there was a large conference on, he offered us a room swap, which we accepted, and also 25 pontins pounds, which could only be spent on site (not in fashion spot however) and then proceeded to give us a free holiday voucher, redeemable for 12 months. Overall, after our room swap, we were quite happy, there wasn't much to do on camp, but Blackpool, is 5 minutes away, so that was good. The food was nice, always hot and a variety.
We will visit again
