Good Points
500GB - wow!
Sleek, black case.
Stackable.
Gb per $ ratio is very good.
Shuts down with computer, and turns on with computer. Power button is easy to access.

Bad Points
No fan. For a 500Gb drive, it makes me wonder, though it still runs cool.
-USB transfer speed is SLOW, even on USB 2.
-You can't swap hard drives out, but that's not a big deal. It would still be cool though, being that the case is nice.
The software is garbage! Don't install it.

General Comments
Overall, the Western Digital My Book Essential 500Gb is a great piece of hardware. USB transfer speeds were slow, but worked.

I had to format it to NTFS. The software is total garbage, and it's just Google software, and not useful at all.
