General Comments

The Samsung SGH-X660 is a replacement for my Sony 300i (see previous review) and straight out of box I knew that despite being £20 dearer, it was a much better phone. More substantial (no fascia or battery cover-fantastic), better feel and one of the best looking phones on the market. Buttons have rubber texture rather than plastic and chassis and hinge are solid. Phone seems to be very resistant to scratches, despite being in and out of pockets and dropped on variety of surfaces, the only part to show any wear is IR sensor.

Menus are intuitive but not having fast access to camera on a camera phone is a bit daft, instead of Talk Now button on chassis side, they should have put camera.

Reception is always good, although if you have it on silent, even in jeans pocket you won't know when you have a call/text, due to poor vibrate function. Web access is a bit hit & miss although that is more network related, and beware the fact that phone blurb says email function, this is only through browser.

The only reason this phone isn't more popular, is the industry was moving towards sliders and Samsung was promoting D600 etc. A search on Froogle will get you this phone for £59.99 and I would have to recommend it, even for its minor failings.
