These apartments are well situated on the opposite side of the resort from the Irish Quarter, but only 6/7 minutes from walk to the resort centre.
The beach is literally across the road, and down about 15 or so steps.
The apartments are very large and spacious compared to other complexes in the resort.
There are a number of restaurants within a two minute walk frm the complex serving all kinds of foods from oriental to spanish and american diner type food, all reasonably priced and value for money.
We went with a 15 year old and a 13 year old. They both loved the Porofino as there were loads of kids their ages and they all got on well. This made our holiday a pleasure as we did not have to keep them occupied.
There are plenty of shops and bars to visit adjacent to the complex.
Also there are no children's clubs for families with younger children.
The Portofino apartments are ideal for people who like a lively nightlife but like to sleep in quieter surroundings.
I recommend you try Rickie's next door, as the food ius very good.
The Jaggy Thistle sells Tennant's lager, which is a change from Heineken.
I was concenred that there were a load of steps to the pool, which the Portofino shares with the Sorrento, but a lift has been installed to save your legs.
Did not try food so cannot comment on it
