General Comments

Being and Time by Martin Heidegger

This is the best philosophy book written about life as it is lived, and how it is at issue if you are authentic as it is understood. It is the question the one of what it means to you to exist that is covered in this most famous of books. The core of you is for you to discover. It is about taking your consciousness seriously. This is as Christianity is dead, and it can only be kept alive by artificial means as a shell of its former self. Authenticity, Heidegger wants to be automatic ethical behaviour that you look back on as a narrative. This is why we are told no one knows what Heidegger is talking about, as ignoring this authenticity will cause anxiety and it will be primordially concrete, which is what the powers to be want to happen. Submit to your own anxiety in order to be authentic then you will own your own existence and be responsible for it, so do not set it in the ego or ID; people will do anything to undermine this situation however. Objectivity conceals this deep truth, and that is why it is praised. It is not truth, but it is about disclosing or destiny. It is everything that the powers that be do not want you to know summed up in a nut shell.

Understand all aspects of life not life itself is what Zen teaches. Being, which is life as it is lived to me is always shaped by its historical facts, nothing final - a dynamic presence. Our understanding needs truth as its condition. Knowledge is self-knowledge. The free person produces objective knowledge this is the cause of alienation says Heidegger. Alienation is a kind most exaggerated self-dissection, tempting itself with all possibilities. This is a cause of suffering, a determining and a setting limits on the self he states in this book. Self knowledge in contrast, if it is not to involve suffering needs a trial. A trial of self surrendering; this is as it says in Zen teaching. A spiritual journey has to take place, so as to know itself as an ordered and objective reality and also as free. It says in Zen that this is to go from inauthentic to authentic; from lies to faith. Philosophical errors and everyday misunderstandings are about vulgar ordinary concepts, and understanding a self concealing that is lies about all our possibilities. Finitude contingency and dependence questions existence, content of the historical analytic of life as it is lived about feeling and understanding. That is the world of wisdom. The three below mean live as it is lived must be examined first to understand anything to do with other people.

1 The present.

2 The potential the existential.

3 Understanding always from the perspective of inside our selves needs an existence the world, and it is then understood from inside that existence.

This little synopsis gives you an idea about why this is a most important book, and if you think this is difficult try reading the book!
