The pool area at the Sahara Beach in Monastir is one of the best I've seen, and the staff are always cleaning. The waiters in the restaurant were excellent. I enjoyed the food, as I like spicy food, but my son was not so keen on the restaurant meals, but he did enjoy food from the outdoor bars. The water sports were excellent, and the cheapest I've seen.

There were too many Germans who seemed to get preference over the English, French and Italian, and their own locals. The bar staff inside were miserable and unhelpful, unless you gave them a big tip before you even had your drinks!

We had constant harassment from shop owners on the way down the corridor to the restaurant, not just in the towns. Also, the Tunisian men have a tendency to maul English women.

Overall, it was extremely cheap, and it has an excellent pool, which was kept very clean. Entertainment wise it was rubbish. Don't buy cigarettes on the beach as they're fake! If you just want a pool holiday and somewhere to drink alcohol, then it's for you. If like us you want to venture out of an evening, forget it!

The motorised go-karts just outside the hotel were very cheap.

The very basic but clean rooms had no fridge, and there was only one plug socket plug. There was a shower that you hold yourself (no fittings).

If you want luxury go somewhere else, like the hotels in Hammamet.
