Vastly better than the mark1 version.
Lots of passenger space.
Versatile load area.
Quality feel to the vehicle.
Firm springing.
Road noise.
This car could be a great deal better than it is.
If Mercedes could get the road noise level down to near 'C' class levels (and I find it difficult to believe they lack the ability to do this) and they could get the comfort level of the suspension sorted out (ditto re ability; how about air suspension?) this would be a difficult car to better.
It might even take sales from the 'C' class for those to whom size isn't important.
Oops, that would explain it!
