Excellent magazine system. (Numbered!)
Very accurate and a NICE trigger.
Quiet and powerful.
Lightweight and handles well.
High quality!
Expensive, but you get what you pay for
I have had the Falcon PF-25 for about a month now, and I just cant get enough of this fine rifle. I was very lucky to pick one up used in .22 cal, with the walnut thumb hole stock. I'm glad I didn't have to spend the $1100 entry fee to obtain greatness....but if you have to I think it would be MORE than worth it.
This rifle is amazing....where do I begin? Maybe with the fact that it is a TACKDRIVER. You can shoot into one hole all day long from 35 yards, and extending the range hardly makes any difference. At 65 yards, I am shooting under an inch CTC with light wind and 21gr Kodiaks. I have my trigger down to a single stage, and there is NO CREEP. Even the blade can be adjusted for cant (left/right) and also for reach (forward/rearward). Just a few ounces of pressure will send the pellet flying down range.
With the addition of a slightly longer hammer spring, I set mine at 16 shots at ~35 FPE. That's two clips worth of hunting power, but if you want you can easily adjust the power down to get more shots per fill.
Also, the gun has a very efficient moderator, which has special threading that prevents it from being used on anything else BUT the Falcon Prairie. It isn't SUPER quiet, but at my power level (35fpe) it is more quiet than my friends FX Cyclone (32fpe). The sound of the pellet hitting the target is louder than the rifle itself.
The fit and finish of my rifle are high quality and I was surprised at how lightweight the rifle is compared to its overall length. The PF-25 handles like a dream, and feels like it was designed for off-hand shooting. I highly recommend the walnut thumb hole stock. It is WELL worth the extra money, in my opinion!
Many additional features include a built in pressure gauge, which is actually accurate! Also, the PF-25's magazine action functions flawlessly, and I believe these magazines are among the best in the business. It is great knowing what shot you are on, because the magazines are actually numbered. Also, it wont let you cock the bolt home if you are out of shots. Very handy feature! All of this may seem like a minor luxury, but after you use it, you'll never want to go back to the old guessing game that some PCPs have you playing.
All in all, highly recommended!!! I suggest if you are in the U.S., that you buy direct from the distributor.
