“The Royal Enfield 18 HP 350 is a Smother Happier Bike...”

Good Points
They are Cheap to Buy (New & 2nd Hand),Spares are Cheap & Plentiful.
When they go wrong, you Reach for your Tools not your Credit Card.
They are Full of Character, they Speak to you & you to it, They are FUN.
More Smiles Per Miles Per Pound or Dollar.

Bad Points
Well they Are SLOW, Can be Tweaked to Faster. They are 1950's Tech with a few Modern Bits, More Chance of a Friday Bike (Rushed Together) than Some. Do Require a Knack (Learning a Skill) Love it or Hate it But Try it !

General Comments
The Royal Enfield 18 HP 350 is a Smother Happier Bike than the 500 (22 HP) I Find. Available Now in a Fair Few Styles & Extras (Electric Start, Modern Brakes). However the Standard is the Best Romantic Bargain. (& The Home Market India Models are an Even Better Buy, But can be a Bit Rougher Round the Edges.& Slower. I ride One & It's Great!) Official Imports Get you a Twin Leading Shoe Brake,& a Better Finish. All Basic Bikes Return about 75MPG, Are Happiest at Sub 60MPH Speeds & are Great on Country Roads.

Lastly, Money Permitting you Can turn them in to Any Classic Scrambler/Racer/WD Bike you like from the 50's or 60's or a Passable Mod Bike. My Advice Get a Standard, Change your Mindset, bob along and Just Ride it (& with the money you save you are covered for the "Little Problems".) Ride Free, Be Happy! ..........
