How I wish I had found this link ages ago. C5. AArghhhh! I have had all the same problems mentioned here and many more. I bought my 2.2 HDi estate when it was less than 2 years old, and with a years warranty left -thank God. 5 perfect months. Huge load lugging capacity, reasonable fuel efficiency, then anti-pollution fault, followed by esp/adr fault, and limp home mode. The garage have had the car back over 30 times since. I have written to the MD of Citroen UK threatened with legal action, and the faults are still there. I have been told they wont be able to solve the problem. I am selling soon. In addition, when it rains, the auto window wipe activates the windows to close. Except, passanger window goes down instead. Great fun. 'Anti pinch sensor error' they tell me.
Air bag fault - intermittent. Rear door only unlocks when the front doors are opened and the lock button is pressed on the key fob. Brakes squeal, and I have been told this is a common, uncurable C5 fault. Tail gate window won't open. And this week, clean diesel filter. This was carried out, and the fault recurs every day. Oh, and now my Citroen dealer - Forthway Citroen, Fife, has gone bust. Stupid Citroens. I think Jeremy Clarkson would love this - any thoughts?
