General Comments

just bought a picasso from machargs in glasgow, i was promised 6500 over the phone for my trade in and in the end had to haggle to get the trade in price from 6000 to 6400 + mats+petrol.
3 weeks later i'm still waiting on mats and got £3.99 worth of petrol!.
I had to take my car to arnold clark in armadale( local dealer ) yesterday to sort my unworking window washer and get my rear view mirror replaced only to be told that the car needed £125 worth of work done which included a service.
4 phone calls from me to machargs later and i'm still waiting for the sales person at machargs to return my calls.
When i did manage to speak to him last week he promised to post out my mats, log book and service history book....still waiting!!

4 weeks since i bought the picasso and i'm still waiting for my service history book which machargs say will prove my car has been serviced. Despite constant promises from them that they will post out the service history book and the mats. I give up on the insult of a gallon of petrol, and definitely won't be back there. The cars going well but once they've got your ££££'s the aftercare service is a wash out.

I have now made FOURTEEN phone calls to Machargs. My last call had the receptionist tell me that she would go to see a manager right away. After doing her nails or whatever she had done, she came back to the phone and assured me the manager would ensure the salesman would phone me back ......Guess what? Still not the courtesy to phone me, still no mats and still no service history book......is anybody there??????

18 phone calls and two letters later Machargs still refuse to contact me. Could anyone in the Glasgow area nip into Machargs for me and ask the Arnold Clark salesman to contact me?

    THE FINAL CHAPTER.
Had a call from Machargs. If I buy a service book from a local dealer (Aramadale) and send it to Machargs, they will stamp it as serviced and post it back to me. My mats are in the showroom for me to pick up (100 mile round trip).

Actually, I missed the call from Machargs, but they left a message for me to phone them. When I did phone and introduce myself, the guy on the other end asked if I was happy with my car from Machargs, and then asked me if I would like to upgrade it! When I asked if he was having a laugh, he asked me why I was phoning!!

Once he finally worked out why I was in fact phoning, he immediately went on the offensive saying that if you buy a second hand car then you get (as a package) what they get when they take the car as an exchange.

He ignored the fact the fact that I had phoned 18 times and had only 3 responses. Ignored the fact that to get my mats I had to travel 100 miles. Ignored the fact that I was quoted £6500 for my trade in via telephone, and ended up haggling for £6300 and mats and petrol. Ignored the fact that despite offering to give me petrol for my bother, they never even gave me enough to take the petrol warning light off.

I would advise anyone who buys a car to make sure you are not rushed by the salesman into buying, and without doubt take your time when looking over the car and its contents before driving out of the showroom.
