For the price, the sound quality and comfort are exceptional.
Construction seems great (just over 6 months owned so far). The cable sheathing shows no signs of wear, and one of the reasons I had to ditch my previous Sony pair was because the cable sheathing started to wear away within less than 5 months.
They do seem to be more susceptible to picking up external wind noise than others.
Secondly, and I'm not really sure this is a bad point, but be prepared for them to show up the limited sound quality of MP3 compression. I generally rip at 192bps or higher, but these Sennheiser's are perfectly able to reveal the compromises in such compressed file formats.
I have got through a fair few pairs of headphones for my MP3 player. Because of wear and tear I don't spend more than £40, and within that bracket these are the best things I have come across by a massive margin. The bass is strong, but not overblown. However, it is the solidity of the overall sound which is on a different level to any previous earphones I have owned. I hadn't realised how strong and solid a soundstage my MP3 could produce until I plugged these beauties in.
They are also extremely comfortable. I have worn them for 4 - 5 hours non-stop on some journeys, with absolutely no wear or tiring on the ears. The tightness of the fit also helps the solidity of the sound.
I simply love them.
