    Bad Points

    Slow, disinterested, incapable, and there is no cover during holiday periods.


    General Comments

    I have been a customer with Yorkshire Bank for many years. This year in April I made an offer for a flat and contacted YB in order to take up a rapid repay mortgage. Four months later, after numerous telephone calls via the annoying electronic voice at the contact centre, four written letters (and some tears in private about the nerve wrecking process), YB still had not managed to arrange an evaluation. When the evaluation eventually took place, I was told that I had to wait a further 8 weeks for the mortgage, although I was previously told it would only take a further 2 weeks. Thus, I would have to wait a minimum total time of 6 months! During this time I continued to pay rent instead of paying off my mortgage, and lost thereby 4500 GBP. Needless to say, I am very upset and I will now transfer all my accounts to another bank.
