General Comments
If you wish to do the Anfield Stadium tour you must book this a long time in advance to secure your place. They are only limited to 50 persons per tour. We visited towards the end of July 2006 and booked 8 weeks in advanced and were told we had the last 3 places! The museum doest need to be booked in advance and well worth a visit for any Liverpool or foeti fan. We were not Liverpool football supporters, but we made to feel most welcome by the staff there and it was very interesting and well worth the visit. The Museum features two film shows and has many trophies and memorabilia on display. The stadium tour itself takes you behind the scenes at Anfield, visiting the dressing rooms, down the tunnel to the sound of the crowd, a chance to touch the famous "This Is Anfield' sign and sit in the team dug-out. Have your picture taken in front of your favourite team member's shirt. Informative and friendly tour guides will tell you about the great Anfield Stadium and escort you on to The Kop. Sit in the dug out where the manager/VIP's sit. You are allowed to take pictures/videos of the grounds/inside the stadium.
Open: every day of the week from 10am until 5pm. Last admission to museum 4pm. On match days last admission is 1hour before kick-off. There are no Stadium tours on match days. Tours on day before a match will be mini tours at special reduced prices. Normal admission charges are:- Museum & Tour; Adults £9.00, Children/OAPS; £5.50 Family:£23.00
There are special tours for Liverpool fans with hearing disabilities. A series of special tours of Anfield Stadium, conducted by a fully Registered Qualified BSL Interpreter. A Liverpool fan has kindly offered her services to the Club on a voluntary basis on one or two days per month, to help meet the demand for fully signed tours for fans with hearing disabilities. Her professional registered abilities will ensure a quality interpretation during the tour. The tours are fixed to specific times and dates (see website for more information) and limited to a maximum of 50 persons including any personal assistants etc. Advanced booking is therefore strongly recommended. If the scheme proves popular it is likely to be extended throughout the year on a once or twice monthly basis. When booking your stadium tour payment is made on the day. Signed tours are only available on certain dates, do ring for more information. The stadium was not as big as I was expecting. No refreshments were available to purchase, hence 0 rating - this is not to say it was bad as places were being re-decorated, just it would have been nice to have a cuppa as you can easily spend an hour in the museum and the tour takes just over an hour. The Liverpool football shop was closed due to having a re-fit. Atmosphere was given a 10 rating but obviously no match was seen. Highly recommended.
