Philips PET725/05 Portable DVD Player Review
I've been wanting a portable DVD player for some time, so I can watch movies in my own private space away from the constant buzzing and distraction of other people in the house. I looked through catalogues and stores and thought I'd settle for a nice cheap brand, especially with all the sales going on at the time. Fortunately, I went to Myer just before their closing time and my eyes were immediately transfixed to this stylish, modern and sleek looking player. It had all the specifications I was looking for, a long battery life (4 hours rechargeable battery), remote, plays movies, music, divX and JPEG images. It looks sturdy, with an iPod like ivory white cover, and a nice black inside. The screen image is of very high quality, with no light leakage and with Zero Bright Point. The audio is also excellent. The only downside to this player so far is the 'whrrling' noise it makes when it loads a CD, but as soon as the CD begins playing, the sound goes away. For AUD$279, I couldn't ask for a better player.
