General Comments

I have held home insurance with CIS for 15 years, having made only 1 small claim for a mountain bike during this period. I tried to claim for a digital camera that was either taken or mislaid from my home, but it never turned up. Having thought I would be covered for this kind of thing, I was told that I couldn't claim. So alas, we must part from CIS, and I'm off to get a quote from Tesco who told me that in this circumstance I would have been able to claim with them (under normal home contents insurance) as long as I reported the lost item to the police.

    You clearly didn't have the correct level of cover, because CIS do offer insurance for simple 'loss' under their specified and unspecified personal possessions policies.
