Good Points

The complaints staff are friendly and easy to talk to.


Bad Points

The general lack of customer service training and basic politeness.
The e-service needs a great deal of improvement, as you are to maintain your account yourself, but you are not informed of this.
It is impossible to understand the billing information.


General Comments

I am in receipt of my final bill in the sum of £788.75 from Scottish Power. It therefore seems strange that I am not one payment behind on any of my payments, or indeed any other bills through other companies.
I queried the matter 3 times through the e-contact centre, and all 3 replies left me extremely dissatisfied. I actually felt insulted by comments like - "This is your fault" and "You should have paid more."

When setting up my account late in 2004, I explained very clearly that I had not been responsible for a bill before, and did not know how much to pay. I asked for advice on my monthly amount and how to maintain my account, and on both counts I have been grossly misadvised.

I made a serious complaint. I have been dealt with by the complaints team, and all they have done is taken steps to recover the money I owe. Now I am having to pay this over an extended period, but they will not extend it longer than 3 months! Do the maths - that's £262.92 per month on top of all my other bills.

No holiday for my family this year then! Thank you Scottish Power! Who likes relaxing anyway?
