Good Points

None for the Sol Y Mar apartments, but Cala Bona and Cala Millor are great places to stay. There are plenty of places to eat, and there is a lovely promenade if you like a late evening stroll. Parts of the beach at Cala Bona are quite rocky, but it was still lovely there.


Bad Points

The apartments weren't too bad overall. However, the bath had been painted over, and the first time we had a shower it all peeled away. We actually put up with it, mainly because the people there were Polish, and as usual when it suited them their English wasn't up to scratch. The so-called English pub was a joke, and the people in the apartments, and outsiders, only went there once or twice, and that was usually enough. Happy hour(s) was according to who served you, and if you said anything, the language once again became a barrier. The only time it was packed was when the football matches were on. The inside pool was not open, and we were told people preferred the outside one, which may be true, but I know a lot of people who would have liked to use an indoor pool to escape the heat. Apparently the gym was open from 9am - 1pm, but we never saw any sign of this. In fact, the gym and indoor pool area looked filthy, and the supermarket has been closed too, we were told, for three years.


General Comments

The resort itself is lovely, and we would certainly go back to Majorca, but never again to the Sol Y Mar apartments. We did not think they were good value for money at all. There were only 2 of us, and we got heavily stung for under occupancy, but when we got there it was very hard to see where the 3rd or 4th person would have slept, as the sofa was certainly not a pull down one. A lot of the English people were complaining about this place. If only they would put their comments on these pages.
