Autumn Finance were under the name of All Clear Finance, and I was allegedly speaking to a senior financial advisor. He asked me what my debts were, and without having my records at hand, advised me to undertake an IVA (individual voluntary agreement) which is close to declaring bankruptcy.

He tried to make me feel that I was in a worse financial situation than I already am, and pushed me into the IVA corner, saying it would not affect my credit rating after 4 years. I have just read an article that has been published in the paper today, written by someone from HSBC warning against these types of companies, and the credit implications which arise from them!

If I didn't have my wits about me I would have bought into this, as his pitch was good, and lasted 45 minutes, and he has been ringing me every day since.

In fact, today he rang asking how much I owed again. After I said I was not interested, he then said, "actually, you're not eligible for an IVA anyhow." So why did he recommend one and say it was the only way out??
