Awesome Peformance for a car that was nearly 20 years old. It still draws attention where ever it goes. Nothing beats the style of the whailtail. Sex on wheels. Tyres are even cheap today, as every boy racer has 17" alloys or bigger
Pretty expensive to repair. If something mechanicaly goes wrong, it will cost big money.
Had decided on what was the car which we would like to have as a second car. On asking what car my wife always wanted to own if we had the money, the Porsche 911 Carrera came to mind. So therfore we started looking for something that was the same price as a new Fiesta (£12k). Done my homework and looked for a post 1987 with G50 gearbox that had been known for being more relaible. Even realised with the back seats folded down we were able to put the dogs in the back, which made the car more usable at the weekends. We found a 1989 black 911 Carrera with cream leather which had a major engine overhaul at a cost of £8k. It was great while it lasted. Do not get me wrong, no ABS and power steering is quite difficult, but hey, even if your not that pretty, you still get looked in a black 911.
