Good Points

Bitdefender is relatively inexpensive, and gets good reviews from PC mags and sites. It does not consume too much of the system resources to run. FREE tech support via Live Chat and Email. Easy to use interface. Perhaps a little too simple.


Bad Points

Bitdefender has stopped running on my PC. It starts to scan and stops exactly 41% through. It then cannot be stopped. I have to cold boot my PC to free things up again. This is either caused by a program fault or a virus etc on my PC. Tech support was helpful in giving me directions to send them PC info to help resolve the problem. Correspondence has gone back and forth several times. They DO reply. Unfortunately, after several weeks I still have not received a solution to the problem, so I still have a program that doesn't work. Fingers crossed.


General Comments

Despite these problems with BitDefender 9 Professional , I have renewed for a second year persuaded mostly by critiques I have read on websites on the net that rate it highly effective. I am very interested to hear from other users.
