Deal or No Deal is addictive to watch and fun to play along with. It is relatively easy to win the big money , compared to other quiz shows, because no real intelligence is needed and every contestant is guaranteed their chance to win £250,000. The banker is a big personality even though he isn't seen or heard and makes the show much more entertaining.

A lot of contestants are determined that they are going to win the quarter of a million, this usually backfires on them when they turn down a perfectly reasonable amount of money. Deal or No Deal leads viewers and contestants to believe there is some skill in picking random boxes; when the only real decision is either to accept or decline the bankers offer.

Deal or No Deal is already a massive success in the UK after only it's first season. Twenty-two people each select a box not knowing what amount of money it contains (ranging from 1p - £250,000), one of the people is then selected to play Deal or No Deal. The contestant selects boxes, revealing the amount of money inside them and therefore narrowing down what is in their own box. Periodically the banker calls using the old-fashioned telephone to talk to Noel and offer an amount of money for the contestants box. It is then down to the player; who can accept or decline the offer (deal or no deal).
