Good Points

We were originally booked on Viking 1, but on arrival at Luxor Airport were told by our excellent guide that we would be transferred to Viking 3 at no extra charge. The boat had a capacity of about 70 people when full, our group consisted of about 40 so the boat was nowhere near full. The crew from the cabin boy (who had a different sculpture made from towels every day twice on some days) to the boats Manager were all very friendly and helpful. The hygiene on board was of the highest standard with alcohol hand wash in all cabins and at the entrance to the dinning room. The food was excellent and of a very high standard. The entertainment on board was also very good with most people joining in the fun and the spirit of the cruise. Altogether an excellent week.

Bad Points

I can not think of anything that was bad about the whole cruise.

General Comments

When I booked the holiday for myself and wife I was a little doubtful about what we would find. As the price we paid (£399.00) per person which included 7 nights cruise and seven nights in the Hotel Mercure Inn in Luxor on a bed and breakfast basis seemed very reasonable to say the least. This price also included all flights taxes and transfers. Also in the price were 10 excursions to see the various sites along the River Nile and in Luxor itself. There were also various optional trips that one could take at a small price. All of the tours were of a very high standard and our Egyptologist was very helpful and informative. We had been on the boat perhaps two days when we were told that if we wanted we could upgrade our hotel from the Mercure Inn to the Mercure Coralia which was much better this would cost us an extra £20.00 per person which we accepted. In the hotel also there were several excursions on offer, we took one to Cairo to see the pyrimids which was well worth the cost and effort involved. Altogether an excellent two weeks which we would have no hesitation in recommending to anybody.
