Good Points

Easy to use
Works well as a DVD player


Bad Points

Recorded DVD's don't play on other players
Drawer won't open now, so it's useless


General Comments

Very few DVD's that I recorded on the Lite-On LVW-5006 DVD recorder were recognised on other players, which meant I couldn't copy from the video camera to DVD for friends and family, as the DVD's wouldn't work in their machines. It meant I had to transfer them to PC and fiddle about with software programs to make them compatible. Yesterday the thing sat down on me, and the DVD drawer just won't open. So it's useless. I paid quite a lot for this in Argos, and at the time it was over €200. I'm very disappointed. My sister, on my recommendation, bought one shortly after me, and despite upgrading the firmware on hers, it caused her problems and won't record. It will only play, so she had to replace hers as well. A bad buy for both of us.
