Good Points

This bike is astounding value for money. Its technical spec is different from the over-seas model; however the UK '07 Rincon is class. Over dirt tracks, rocks, hard baked and soft mud or on tarmac the J1 forks and perfect balance gives you exactly the right amount of feedback. The equipment level is high, although no disk brakes, a point which I specifically selected the Rincon for as I find them more difficult to maintain while on the trail. This bike is easy to live with, its classic geometry means it fits standard bike carriers easily, it has mounting positions for two bottle cages and its comfortable saddle grips and metal caged pedals are high quality and very comfortable. No need to spend more on upgrades, unless like me you prefer SPD pedals.

Bad Points

There is very little wrong with this bike, except that absence of fault leaves you feeling suspicious that you are missing something. I have found it to be everything I wanted, the only change I have made, excepting the SPD pedals, is the addition of a suspension seat post. This is purely my preference; the alloy post it came with is very good and found on other more expensive Giant bikes.

General Comments

Giant Rincon 2007 - I took my time selecting a bike; I had a limited budget and high demands. Good riding over trails as well as riding to work, tough front forks which wouldn't break at the first sight of some rough, comfort, high quality and a manufacturer with good after-sales support. I got all of these for GB£250. I purchased my Rincon through a registered Giant dealer so it was 'fitted' to me properly. I strongly recommend this as the right size bike can make a huge difference to the riding experience.
