General Comments

I've owned my Numatic "George" for around 6 years now. I used to have a Hoover 3 in 1 and a very elderly Electrolux upright. I kept the Hoover for the odd shampoo but kept the electrolux as it was much better for normal vacuuming (quite impressive given it was nearly 20 years old).
I got a dog and it had a few accidents and threw up on the carpet and stuff and the hoover just wasn't up to it. I had used Numatic machines whilst working as a hospital domestic in my student days and had been very impressed with the machines so decided to spend a little more than a Vax would have cost and got George.
When it arrived I couldn't believe all the accessories that came with it (and I make regular use of every one of them). The shampooing is really good, very thorough and I have saved my carpets from a number of things - including spilling a 5 litre pot of paint. The upholstery shampooing tool has been very useful bringing up a settee a treat and handy for accidents.
The machine is very good for regular vacuuming and I can do the whole house from 1 socket! It's also great for doing the car. I have even used the mopping/squeegee head for giving my tiled floor a thorough clean.
To be honest I can't really fault it and given that most of my family and friends have borrowed it on occasion they seem quite happy with it too.
What really surprised me was when one friend borrowed George he managed to break one of the clips. He called Numatic, expecting to pay through the nose for a small spare part. He spoke with a very knowledgeable member of staff. The required part was posted out and with him in a few days - free of charge. I don't imagine many competitors are so helpful.
Despite reasonably heavy use I do not see my George retiring for a long long time.
