Good Points

The hotel was very clean.
Towels, bedding and general housekeeping was excellent.
The pool bar staff were very helpful and friendly.

Bad Points

The hotel management was non-existent. There was no-one looking after the pool area, and the teenage kids were too much of a nuisance; dive-bombing and soaking everybody, including very young children that were still wearing armbands and barely able to float unaided, whilst their parents were busy drinking free (all inclusive) at 10:30 in the morning.
The hotel is situated in between two resorts, Ixia and Rhodes town. Both are a good walk if the heat will allow you, but it is only a cheap taxi ride away.
The main hotel staff were always arguing amongst themselves at ALL levels.

General Comments

We have just arrived home from the beautiful island of Rhodes. Rhodes old town was fantastic! It is full of lovely shops, and at night it was magical; all lit up and very impressive.

The downfall of this holiday was the Sirene Beach Hotel. It was rated 4*, but it is more like 3 - 3*. The pool staff were very friendly, and they could not do enough for us. The rest of the staff spent most of their time arguing amongst themselves, and they were not at all friendly.

The food was nothing to write home about. The basic food catered more for the international guests rather than the English. It is an International hotel, so the guests were from all over the world. However, all of them were very friendly.

The management did not like more than one drink on the table at any time. They made quite a scene about it on one occasion. Some people drank from morning until night. Nothing was said, but British people cannot have two drinks on a table at 11pm as it is last orders and All inclusive finishes at 11pm. If you have more than 2 drinks the manager says it is disrespectful.

The entertainment was a guitarist twice a week, and it was not worth coming off beach for. The only entertainment came from all the guests from different parts of the world, taking turns singing Karaoke. That was entertainment!

The bedrooms were very basic (no bath). The hotel reception was nice however, and all the hotel information was in different languages, but there was nothing for British visitors.

The Pool was rarely cleaned, and we never saw anybody test the water. The pool has no lifeguards and no rules regarding diving etc.
A tip for the pool area:- If you get a sun lounger, leave your towel on it overnight. I got up at 7am twice, only to find all of the beds were taken. We later discovered this is because everybody was leaving their towels on the beds indefinitely.

We booked a sea view balcony. The only way you could see the sea was if you looked around the corner of your little balcony and strained your neck, then you got a glimpse of the sea. Our view was of the car park.

Yes, we will be returning to Rhodes again, but we will never return to the Sirene Beach Hotel. Next time I will be staying in a 4* hotel which deserves to be rated as 4*.
