Bad Points

My husband bought a car from Admiral Cars, and we found to our disgust a week (if that) later that the head gasket needed to be fitted. After that we then found the oil pump needed replacing!


General Comments

We got in touch with Admiral Cars to tell them the head gasket had gone, after discussion with trading standards. We spoke to the lady on the phone, and she told me "sold as seen" (that does not apply in law these days). She then rang back and spoke to my husband and said the garage would pay half for the head gasket repair. We settled for that, and after picking it up from the garage that Admiral had taken it to, the oil light came on! We took it back to the garage, who said it was the oil pump (more money). The car originally only cost £650.00! We took the car to our own dealer to have the oil pump fitted, and we are still not sure if the car will run OK or not, as the engine is noisy. So far, the car has now cost over £12000!

    I think Admiral Cars did above and beyond what any other garage would do on a car costing £650, i think sometimes people expect to much for there money.
