I bought this printer about 18 months ago after reading up all the blurb about specifications etc. and after recommendations from several friends that epson was a good make. To be fair, it did all the things it should do initially, but two weeks after the warranty ran out (i.e. just over 12 months), the lcd display stopped working. Having contacted epson, they would only suggest taking it to the nearest epson agent (100 miles away from where I live) who would charge around a third of what I paid for the printer just in to inspect it!
As the printer was still working, although now no use as a stand-alone device, I have continued to use it for the past 6 months, but last week it just stopped printing, and an error message appeared on screen saying parts inside the printer have passed their servicable life and to contact a service agent. The printer is now useless. Needless to say I am now going to throw out the printer, and buy anything but an epson next time!

I agree with all the downsides reviewed here. The LCD display is a universal fault. How can everyone's LCD display stop working after a short time? Is this a built-in obsolescence ploy by Epson? The cost of the cartridges is high, and the the RX600 multifunction printer is damn thirsty. There are some plus sides: good quality of printing, ease of set up and ease of use etc. But overall, the machine is less than average.
