Good Points

Lovely hotel, rooms cleaned every day, clean towels daily, clean linen every second day and free beach towels that can be changed daily. Great location right on the beach. The hotel pools were very clean and the hotel grounds are very well kept. The animaction team at the hotel were great and the children (age 10 and 14) were occupied all the time. There were lots of sporting activities organised from 10.30 till 2pm and 4 till 6pm, as well as very good evening entertainment for all the family.

Its a very Spanish resort, full of Spanish tourists. Lots of young families, but not suitable for those looking for night life.

The pool site 'a la carte' restaurant is lovely but expensive.

We hired a car for 4 days. Don't use Europcar or Avis that are recommended by the rep and hotel. We got a better deal, which still had comprehensive insurance with Crown. They are situated next to the Supermarket in the Commercial Centre, 5 Min's from the hotel. They are very friendly and helpful. We went to Portugal to visit the resorts and a water park in Quarteira 'Aqua Show' which was good but cost £50 for the 4 of us.

Bad Points

The food! The buffet restaurant was terrible and we refused to pay on our first night. The Spanish seemed to love it! We found the hot food cold and not up to 4 star quality. This was a shame as the 'a la carte' restaurant was fab.

There is a 'Commercial Center' 5 Min's from the hotel. This is where all the bars, restaurants and shops are. The shops are great, the supermarket well stocked, but the restaurants are limited. I would recommend the Italian on the second floor, it was lovely and the service good.

La Antilla is a 20 minute walk from the hotel. There is more going on there but we only ventured in twice as we didn't find it very clean.

Isla Christina should be avoided at all costs! We took a taxi to the center and couldn't find a restaurant! I think everything is on the outskirts near the hotels. We ended up in an area like a ghetto, and it was quite scary.

General Comments

Overall, if you are looking for a beach/pool holiday, with plenty for the kids to do this will suit you if you are happy to sit about on a lounger most of the day. If you need more to do then this may not be for you.

I would go again but only for one week and would only do self catering or room only.
