Purchased this rifle on a clearance sale for $59.00. Very impressed with the weight and stock of the gun. The hard plastic casing around the barrel raised my eye brows at first but after a closer inspection it doesn't compromise the integrity of the gun in the least. It only adds a nicer look and protection. The gun is very well built and put together, can't see where any corner were cut! Installed a $25 scope on it and was not that happy with the groupings I was getting on sighting it in. Until I whiched from a 8.64 gr. pellet (Beeman's Silver Stinger) to a 7.0 gr. pellet (Diabolo Basic). Not only did the groupings get tighter but the heavyer pellet was dropping an extra 5" in 25 yds. With the FPS rated at 760 the lighter pellet makes a big difference!
The owners manual is VERY basic. No instructions on how the tear the gun down and clean it. No instructions on how or what to use for lubrication, chamber oil, spring maintenance etc.
Plunking in your back yard or hunting small game this Gamo Sporter is a very hard rifle to beat for the price. Filled a pop can with water and at 40 yds it burst it open rather nicely with the 7.0 gr. wad cutter.
