Good Points

Good specification machine for a low end model - has everything you need
Good warranty options
Plenty of choice for extra components and upgrades
Modern stylish case
Quiet running
Not covered in meaningless flashing lights
Clearly identifiable slots e.g. USB, monitor etc. with clear instruction leaflet for setup
All software pre-installed and it all worked
Time to setup was as long as it took to follow instructions - not excessive - and was easy to set up
Software for most standard requirements was pre-installed e.g. data backup, burning CD's or DVD's, basic photo editing etc


Bad Points

McAfee Anti-virus and security software appeared to be installed but it was not - and it was necessary to download all components off the internet - if you have fast broadband this is not a problem, if you have not and use a dial-up modem you are unlikely to be patient enough to download it all. It is likely to take hours and hours. You can of course install it or other Anti-virus software off a disc if you have one (not supplied by Dell).


General Comments

I must point out I live in France although I am English, and my requirement was for a UK language machine but with French guarantee and support.

I was very impressed with Dell France (much more so than Dell UK) who were able to provide me with what I wanted.

Delivery was quick - all arrived in one piece
Dell have good online support and forums through their web site

I have a 3 year on site next day warranty, which is realistically the lifespan of the computer in technology terms, which hopefully I will never have to use

I would have no hesitation recommending anyone to buy a Dell machine
