Good Points

The young male staff were helpful, and one young girl in particular on reception was excellent - no other word for her. She tried her best to help you in every way possible.

Bad Points

The food was absolutely disgusting!! You get the same food every day. Breakfast was awful, unless you like hot dog watery sausages and watery scrambled egg. The evening meal was exactly the same every night, and it consisted of soup or the exact same salad, or goat or chicken stew with rice. The stew had a few peas thrown in, and there was also strawberry mousse with lots of skin on top.

General Comments

We booked to stay at the Monta Verde in Turkey as a late deal through Scot Travel. Never again! We paid for half board, and we had 1 breakfast and 2 evening meals. One evening I asked if I could have a piece of cake, and the Chef advised "none left". Luckily, we met a couple who had been there for a week, and they advised us of an excellent English restaurant called Codswallop, which is run by 2 English ladies. We went there every day for breakfast and dinner. The food was all home cooked, and there was English fish and chips or pastries, and a good old English breakfast with no goat in sight. The Chef at the hotel told me it was lamb, and I nearly threw up when I tasted it. If you are going to go there, go self catering. I have never in my life tasted such repetitive rubbish. It was like Groundhog day.

We were told by the person selling the holiday that the weather was in the 40's all the time, but it was cold and rainy for 2 days, and very cloudy a lot of the time. It was also very cold at night.

You have to pay for your air conditioning, which we did not want, but it was on anyway. The room was like an iceberg! We had 4 thick blankets each, and it took them 3 days to sort it out! Watch the head maid! She marks on a sheet what you have had out of the mini fridge, and she marked us as having wine at 6 Lira, which we had not had. It took another 4 days to sort that out!!

We will go back to Turkey, but not to that area. We will try Marmaris. Also, we got pushed into playing bingo when we did not want to, and the top prize was a free holiday there. I won, but I am now back home, and I have been told nothing of my free holiday. I would not recommend this hotel.

If you want to eat rubbish such as fish and chips and English breakfast, then try going on holiday in some tacky English resort, such as Blackpool or Skegness.

I disagree with this review because...my family were at monta verde on june and had a lovely time couldn't fault anything .maids right up to owner were so friendly and helpful;we were lucky to get to stay in rooms and villas and found no fault in any.both bars and pools were excellent too, this was my first time staying in a turkish hotel, my daughter has been to turkey a few times at higher rated hotels and were rubbish one not so far from monta verde .she rated monta verde a lot better than the ones she's been to.we will be going back here hopefully in october again
