Good Points

Very long life, 15 years and still washing! Very easy to use, has lots of space, can wash pots and pans safely and washes OK for its age!

Bad Points

Bit of an eyesore in the kitchen, on/off button falls out, door hinge needs tightening regularly, getting dirty and rusty. No half load for small washed. The lower basket fails to stay in place, bad when it is loaded with dishes and pans!

General Comments

If I ever asked you what dishwasher had a long life span, you would shout, MIELE! BOSCH! SIEMENS! If I said Indesit, you'll be thinking "Looney guy!"

Well, it is true. When I moved into my new house, there was an Indesit 3000W dishwasher. I decided to keep and use it, it was my first ever time at a dishwasher. It actually belonged to my gran, who passed away, who actually had the dishwasher as a gift from my uncle, who used it before.

I used to curse Indesit many times and still do. I had a rubbish cooker and fridge of Indesit which had a short life span, rubbish and dangerous. (The cooker overheated, and the fridge blew a fuse!).

My Indesit D3000 (3000W) has lasted for 15 YEARS! And at this moment, there are still dishes inside to be washed. It is fabulous, it washes dishes for a family of seven (Well eight, there is a cat too but we don't wash its dishes inside it) and it is so easy to use. It washes OK and dishes left dirty are the really stubborn stains or the filter needs cleaning.

But a dishwasher 15 years old won't be very perfect. It is dirty and grubby, the hinges are all rusted and the white is soon yellowing to dirty yellow! But it still washes.

I think it will soon pack up and we will need a new dishwasher, even though I would not recommend buy this dishwasher now at its age, or buy Indesit because they are rubbish now, the dishwasher is perfectly good and I would have recommended it when it was new! It is good, though it is not Bosch but is an Indesit!

The dishwasher works definitely well, I can vouch for that because I put a lot of dishes in, three pans, a frying pan, a teapot, a sieve, so many glasses as well as the normal dishes, and the dishwasher still washes them perfectly! Plus it is an Indesit and is an old, budget model. Whereas people are buying new top of the range BOSCHs which pack up and leaving the "proud" owners with a pile of dishes and a face full of anger! Maybe it helps not to buy a top model, maybe it does...

I've had mine about ten years and it is still going strong. Had to get a new soap dispenser (the little plastic clip broke).

A new kitchen means I have to go built-in so I'm about to buy a Miele G1272 SCVi for £741 (Which "Best Buy") and I hope its works. Is insurance worthwhile?!
