I picked the BaByliss 2027U Slim Ceramic Multi Plate Straightener up for £10 in Ethel Austin. What a bargain I thought. I'm off to the shop today - to take them back.

My hair isn't massively curly, just wavy, but they didn't seem to be hot enough to do the job and they just slipped off. They are not ceramic but ceramic coated. I have had 2 pairs of GHD's, but they always break just after the first year, so I thought I'd try something else. How difficult can it be? I'll let you know in my quest to find cheap straighteners that work.

I am determined to find something that rivals GHD but isn't so ridiculously priced. Babyliss never touched my wavy but fine hair. I didn't look like I had put any straighteners near it. I'm off to the shops to fulfill my quest,
