General Comments

Let me start by saying the R9 is a spectacular air rifle. I would recommend this rifle to anyone looking for a fairly powerful and extremely accurate finely made piece of German craftsmanship. For the price and the weight, it cannot be beat, PERIOD!

I first purchased the R9 Goldfinger from Cobra Outdoor Sports (aka CobraAirguns.com). The driving force behind my decision to use this reseller was completely based on price. I will not make this mistake again when buying an air rifle.

When the rifle arrived at my doorstep I immediately noticed that the box had a fair amount of damage. Unfortunately this reseller does not double box or in some other way package the rifle to guarantee its safety. I unboxed the rifle and inspected it thoroughly. Everything about the rifle seemed in order until I tried to turn the magnification dial on the scope. It would not budge even a inch in either direction. It was stuck at 4X.

I called the reseller only to here what must have been a fairly rehearsed response; "We do not open the factory sealed boxes that are sent from Beeman, contact Beeman if you have a problem with the rifle".

Long story short, I contacted and shipped my rifle to Beeman. They decided to ship me a brand new rifle because the repair technician wasn't happy with the overall condition of the rifle. The new rifle I received was beautiful! The stock on this rifle was much much nicer than the one I had originally received. The wood grain and staining was far superior to that of the rifle I received from Cobra. On the box Beeman sent me I noticed a sticker with a check mark near the words "Select Condition". Not sure what this indicates but I liked what was inside!

At this point I've shot around 2,000 rounds and could not be happier with the overall performance of this rifle. The r9 is a true classic.
