Nasty Experience, stay away! I have bought my Honda FES 125 "Pantheon" from Chiswick Honda, London W4 in December 2005 and all the relevant maintenance services have been performed by them. On the 15/05/2006 I have taken the bike for the 5000mls scheduled service and to my surprise I have notice a big discrepancy in labor costs charged from my previous service (2500mls) and this one. The amount of items inspected were in fact less than the previous service but the amount charged for labor was in fact 22% higher and nothing was wrong with the bike at all as ever. I have attached copies of both services sheets for their perusal and have received no comments up to today on this peculiar matter. Seems to be a very profitable method of business. HONDA (UK) have also washed their hands when I have informed them about it, very convenient indeed, they also don't care about what dealers do in their name!!! Not very Japanese.

I too have just had the 5000 mile service on my pantheon and wasn't that impressed, Hunts of Manchester charged me £114 for this when the 2500 was £48. I let them off because they found a dodgy rear bearing and a fault on the belt drive which has been replaced under warranty, just makes me worried about the next one. How much was your 5000 mile service?

Hi Herbie, The break down was: Labor.........£99.90 Parts.........£ 8.20 Sundries.... £10.95 VAT.......... £20.83 TOTAL..... £139.88 Went to another dealer and they mentioned that with £120 they would have done all the 5000 service plus the eventual change of break pads.... They also said that I was charged by the high mileage of the bike... Very sad isn't it???

Hello again LMAZZONI. I just thought I'd let you know that I've just done the 7500 up here in Manchester. This time a whopping £153, although this did include a new rear tyre and some front pads. I'm still looking at a total of £315 to get me this far, which really compares badly with the servicing costs for a car (once a year, 12k miles say). I'm just glad the fuel mileage is so good (about 85mpg) to offset the ridiculous servicing costs.

    Hi Herbie,

My 5000 mls service was £139,88 at Chiswick Honda, and that was my last. This thing about the 2 years guarantee is a catch, as you must have all the services done by a Honda dealer, and now I do not do the services any more. I change the oil, filter and spark plug myself, and if I find anything wrong, I take it to a dealer to deal with it, and this works out a lot cheaper, as the chances of anything going wrong are very rare.

The Pantheon is a very good scooter indeed.

    Good luck.
