General Comments

Well we were promised stunning visuals and adrenaline packed gameplay from the people at Ubisoft but what we got was a bit of a damp squib.

This version of Ghost Recon, like others before it, focuses on the tactics rather than the first person action. You can control your section using on screen commands or a special top down map view. This would be great if the squad mates actually carried out your orders. They don't. They just do their own thing, trailing behind, leaving you exposed and alone. When they do finally get into a fire fight they sit out in the open and get killed. I don't know if the developers have decided not to give ANY AI to these computer controlled players or they just aren't any good at programming it but either way you can't rely on your allies for any help.

The visuals are decent but certainly nothing to write home about. Physics are generally above par in-game but this is irrelevant as the slow gameplay with long periods of no action along with the sluggish un-intuitive controls make this game horrible to play. If this game were a car then it would be an old clapped out rust bucket with no power stearing and only one working headlight.

If you want a good looking fun game then go buy FEAR. If you want something a little more realistic then Battlefield 2 or the upcoming Battlefield 2142 are definitely for you. If you have more money than sense, and you don't mind a lot of frustratingly slow gameplay then buy Ghost Recon.

Very Poor
