Plenty of power
Good driveing
Good turning
Gearbox suspect, head suspect
I have owned two Mitsubishi L300 vans, 2002 & 2004 models.
I do 72000 k a year on country roads and is a good test of a vehicle.
The 2002 model dropped a tooth in third gear at 55000 k then done a head in at 80000k all covered by warranty.
Had no more trouble and sold it at 125000k
The 2004 model had major gear box problems at 105000k.
Whilst out of warranty to be fair Mitsubishi covered cost of parts but the down side was the three weeks to get parts from Japan and vehicle back on the road.
I personally know two other contractors have blown heads at about 170000 k
The only reason I have stuck with this model is I get really good discounts off this van and it is about $10000 dollars to up grade
