High velocity, flat shooting, good bore fit, expansion.
Might be too light for some Magnum air guns.
Beeman Silver Bear pellets are a very light hollow point pellet. In .22 they weigh 12.6 gr. and 7.1 gr. in .177. An odd thing about these pellets is on several occasions they have clocked at considerably higher velocities than Beeman Laser pellets which weigh only 6.5 gr. The only thing I can figure is the Silver Bears have a larger diameter and fit the bore better. They have a small hollow point and a wad cutter edge further down. The combination of the high velocity and the sharp wad cutter edge make these excellent for shooting paper as well as hunting. They are nearly essential if you shoot a real low power gun and do not want to have substantial hold over on "longish" shots. Out of higher powered air guns they are devastating on small game and cut down on over penetrating your quarry. Accurate enough but at medium to long range shots light hollow points are never going to win any marksmanship titles. Stick with round nose pellets such as Beeman FTS pellets. For shorter shots about 20 to maybe 30 yards these will take small game quite cleanly as long as good shot placement is utilized. I have made 1 shot kills on squirrels out to about 50 ft. with a heart/lung shot out of my R-1. A good pellet to add to the collection.
