Has 9 hole golf course on site.
Flat terrain.
Lots of wildlife, including small deer.
Cleanliness of villa.
There is an American Air Force base nearby, and planes can be a bit noisy at times.
Center Parcs Elveden Forest is what it says it is... Forest settings etc.
We have been to 3 of the 4 parcs, but we haven't been to Sherwood yet, and we have found them all to be great holidays.
This time, at Elveden we had a comfort villa and found it spacious and set nicely within trees backing onto forest. Our party contained 5 adults and 2 youngsters 5 and 7 years, and Molly our dog. The villa was a bit smelly and not well cleaned. The bath needed a scrub, and there were cobwebs around the villa etc.
OK, we had a dog, but sticking us in a smelly and dirty villa was not on! Anyway, a trip to the shop and an air freshener later all seemed better.
Elveden Forest is quite flat, so riding bikes and walking is easy, plus it's not a very big parc.
One great aspect to Elveden Forest is the small 9 hole golf course on site. It's really nice, and you can hire a golf bag and clubs (6, 9, P irons and a putter) for £2. You have to buy golf balls at 90p each, so bring your own golf balls!
We did the introduction to archery which was a good laugh.
We ate out at:
Hucks Dinner - Big portions. Great kids play area. We enjoyed it.
Hugos - Smaller choice but nice food. Great kids play area. We enjoyed it.
Parc Market is very well stocked here and it is OK on prices.
Wildlife in this parc is really friendly. They have their own herd of small deer roaming the parc. It was really nice to see these wandering past your villa. Loads of rabbits running about, even in kids play areas. Loads of ducks, and plenty of ducklings too! Lots of water around this parc - nice setting.
While we were there we saw quite a few villas being refurbished. Glad to see that.
It is a really nice place. We have liked all Center Parcs so far.
Longleat is quite big and hilly, but it does have a land train.
Oasis is BIG, quite flat and has nicer villas.
Elveden is smaller and flat, so it is very easy for riding and walking.
