Absolutely no good points
See below
Starting on Jan 2005 I had my middle box replaced by Kwik Fit in Sale upon which I was told I had a guarantee for the part for 2 years. In November 2005 I thought that I heard my exhaust 'blowing' again so I went to my local branch in Preston who advised me that the part had gone in the same place as the original part, and I was told that I couldn't drive the car as it was likely to drop off! So I had to call in work and take a day off unpaid leave. It was replaced immediately under warranty. Needless to say that 2 days later it came apart from my catalytic converter and I was therefore dragging my cat down the road. I called them to say what had happened and was duly told to drive in like this as it wouldn't do any damage! It was welded together again and off I went, until approx 1 week later the same thing happened again. Another day off work and yet again dragged the cat along the road to them and left the car with them to be told that the reason it had happened was that Sale branch had cut the cat down too small. Again welded together and off I went. It then became apparent in May 06 my exhaust was blowing and once again went into Preston who informed me that it had gone in exactly the same place(ps. by now they recognise me on sight) . I said that it was getting beyond a joke and what are they going to do (took boyfriend in as backup) they said that they would order a Peugeot part at their expense and fit this but they would need my car for a full day. Dumped my car with them the previous afternoon (more time off work unpaid) and collected my car the following evening. I was shown the exhaust and what they had done (WHAT DO I CARE) and I mentioned that my tailpipe wasnt sticking out as it should be, I was advised that this would be fine. I had apparentIy been dealt with on this occasion by a regional manager who I had to argue to get a guarantee out of them.........apparently Kwik Fit may fit subsequent parts on your vehicle but they will only honour the original guarantee which meant that I have only jut over 6 months left. Argued that how can they give a guarantee for 2 years on parts and replace something 3 times and not give a new guarantee??? I may be blonde but I'm not stupid but this is their policy on replacement parts. I advised him that he had told me earlier that he said Peugeot gave a 12 month guarantee on parts so I wanted this at least and made him write and sign this on the original receipt copy. Anyway I have been away for a week and after working late etc etc took my car into National Tyres this weekend to assess it for me so that I have a bit of backup as the thing is rattling and whilst the car was up on the ramps I was shown that yes it is fitted twisted therefore hence the rattling when setting off but not only this my tailpipe has melted all the back bumper. Going to press on this review I will be going to be making a major complaint as not only all of the above has been a major grievance but when I went into Kwik Fit on North Rd Preston again to complain about yet more problems they have caused and that the fact the exhaust isn't right, I am treated with a blase attitude that they will sort another bumper for me ..... so what!!!.......the exhaust is still in the same place and it will melt the next one, so more time off work, etc. I might as well get a job at Kwik Fit as I am spending more time there than I am in my own job. I may be only driving a 206 X reg GTI but if they take as much care of my car as they do when they are washing and cleaning their own cars when I turn up to complain, problems like this wouldn't happen. Anyway I will keep you posted.
