When I entered the Aparthotel Oasis Islatilla in Costa De La Luz it had a very welcoming English speaking receptionist. It was early morning, and we weren't in the best of moods because of flight delays, but the staff certainly cheered us up, right away!

We had breakfast there every day, and dinner every day, except for one. The food there is quite "interesting" at times, but in a good way. It's based at a Portuguese and Spanish market, as that's what most of their visitors were, but some food was very international. I wouldn't recommend booking your evening meals if you're not open to trying new things. After seeing the wide variety of food laid out in a buffet, it will certainly get your taste buds tingling, but if all else fails Burger King is only a 5 minute walk up the promenade!

The room was quite small, but with this hotel it doesn't need to be massive; you won't spend so much time in the room, even when it rains. Cable TV was available in the room, but most of it is Spanish, Portuguese and German - there are a few English speaking channels such as CNN which gave us fantastic World Cup updates! ;)

The pool areas were indeed fantastic! You defiantly won't struggle finding a place which suits you to sunbathe and relax here. They have 4 swimming pools, one large pool, one activity pool, one child's pool, and an indoor swimming pool. However, if the pool isn't your thing then the beach is quite literally a 1 minute walk out of the hotel.

The nightlife was simply non-existent. If you're looking for a place to party all night, go somewhere else because this quiet village and the hotel don't accommodate that. There are bars and lounges, with some staff speaking English, but the hand signals and pointing are part the fun, right?

Internet access at the hotel was quite good, although one computer was out of order leaving a queue of about 3-4 people sometimes. It's €1 for every 15 minutes, or if you're lucky to be on a broken computer it's free.

If you've booked a holiday to the Oasis, Islantilla - look forward to it.
