The friend that recommended me getting an account with them, dearly apologised.
Bad Points
Everything. Their charges are ridiculous.
General Comments
I have been banking with HSBC for less than a year, but in my experience with other international banks, they have the poorest service levels.
I went on holiday and accidentally went overdrawn. I have gone overdrawn by 51 pence, for which they charged me £25, and because of that, a direct debit sent my account over their 'agreed' £50 limit for being overdrawn, so it gets sent back, they charge me £30 for it, oh and another £25 gets added for an overdraft 'review fee'.
Overdrawn by £0.51, charge £25, direct debit sent back charge £30, overdraw review fee £25... Account summary £80.51?
I want to move my account, but since they phoned me once and explained their 'benefits' of getting a 'plus' account, I have an agreement with them of some sort of keeping the service for 12 months. In other words, I need to pay them to leave as well, and if I don't pay, they basically kill my credit score.
