Good Points

Everything!

Bad Points

The ignorance of some of the guests who moaned about the food - 'ooh, I don't like the look of that!' and complained generally. People like that should book somewhere on the Costa Del Sol if they can't appreciate somewhere like the Maldives.

General Comments

SNORKELLING - The singular best thing for me was the amazing snorkelling off the island, fish of every variety and colour could be seen just 50 yards off shore. We also went on a cruise and had the amazing good fortune to be joined by a number of dolphin pods who proceeded to swim in the bow wave and leap out of the water every few seconds - out of this world!!!

THE FOOD - If you opted for the buffet and avoided the stuff they made to cater specifically for the British/German/East European palette then it was great. Fabulous fish dishes including snapper fish done in a rotisserie, superb. One night they did a traditional Maldivian buffet and it was excellent.

THE ACCOMODATION - We chose to have a superior room, and boy was it worth it. King sized four poster bed, open air shower and really well furnished. Only ten yards from the beach as well.

VALUE FOR MONEY - We got a really cheap deal at the last minute from Kuoni, and the price we paid was incredible for what we got.

THE SERVICE - All the staff, whether Maldivian, Sri Lankan or Indian were very helpful, chatty and extremely pleasant with big smiles.

THE SPA - We had a treatment, massage and facial, and it was incredible. It is difficult to describe it, but dressed in my white robe, looking out to sea from the wooden building scented with oils, jos sticks and flowers, I felt like something out of a James Bond film.

I couldn't recommend Kuramathi enough. We only spent about £80 when we were there including the two spa treatments and all tips.

It's a lovely place... GO!

Thanks Gez for a great review. We have often thought about that destination for our holidays and now that we have a recommendation for a hotel, I am certainly going to browse the net to look for a good deal.
