Good Points

Handling is exceptional, with tight cornering and incredible braking. The AWD.AWS and dual suspension system makes it great value. It is a car way ahead of its time when first introduced in the fall of 1990. Mine is the original Monza Red and I only have 65k miles on the car, you read correctly, only 65k miles, and it is still in mint condition. This model is soon to be a collector's item.

Bad Points

The functional spoiler mechanism has had to be worked on a couple of times. The motor burned out on two separate occassions.
Its low profile took a bit to get used to when coming down slopes since the front would tend to scrape easily and damage the Fron Venturi skirt air dam.
Can't think of anything else that I would complain about. I also bought and still own a 1999 Jaguar XK8 (with only 35k),and for the $$$ the 3000GT VR4 is every bit as fun to drive...especially on the highway.

General Comments

When I first bought my 3000GT VR4 I was actually in the market for the Porsche 924 or the 300ZX. This was Mitsubishi's first entry into the performance car arena and they did an excellent job with their introduction of the 3000 GT VR4.
Enough so that it is the only time that Mitsubishi has won Motor Trend's Car of the year award in its class.
At the time the car came out none of the other two cars that I considered came close to performance looks nor style. To date, (now that the original 3000GT VR4 has been long discontinued), I often get asked what make of car it is, or if it is still available, or if I would like to sell mine.
At this point I would rather sell my 1999 Jaguar XK8 than my 3000GT VR4.

I have a 1995 VR4 and I think I love mine as much as you do.
I often get asked what it is and offers to buy it. I tell them they can't afford it.
I have had no mechanical problems with it. I run two different types of tires on it depending on the time of the year.
I did replace the timing belt at 55,000 miles as they have a history of going out around 50,000 miles and do alot of damage at that time.
