Good Points

A single stroke pumping action, very accurate, good materials and machining, extra sights and seals included.

Bad Points

A little more heavy, grips big and bulky.

General Comments

I recently purchased the Baikal IZH-46M and tried it out. At first glance the pistol is very well made and engineered. However the next thing you notice when you hold it in your hand is that the grips are too bulky. The best thing is to contour them to your own taste and feel.
Shooting the IZH-46M is easy. First move the cocking lever all the way forward until it clicks and pops open the breech. Then push it back to the closed postion. The cocking effort is about 14 lbs. not much for most people. Loading a pellet is easy with a fair amount of room by the barrel. The breech is then moved down and snaps closed. Now it's ready to be fired.
Trigger is light and crisp, but can be adjusted even more. Their are a total of five adjustments: 1st stage creep, pull weight, 2nd stage creep, over travel, and trigger position. It is good right out of the box. Sights are easy and well marked adjustment knobs. No need for screwdrivers or tools to adjust them. The pistol comes with extra sights so you can taylor them to your taste.
Now as for accurancy, If you can hold it steady. It will do five shot groupings at 10m or 33 feet. That a dime would easily cover. The smallest grouping was about 3/8" and the average was about 1/2" at this range. But a steady rest is needed to get good groupings.
In closing this is a great pistol for under $300 and the performance is as good as pistols costing five times more.
