turnupthebassnow's Review of Co Operative Bank

Overall Rating
Ethical.
Card security concern - they telephoned me when they thought my card may have been stolen.
Bad Points
Lack of high street branches - check before you sign up.
Sloppy customer service - my security details for e-banking were incorrectly input into their system by their telephone staff, which resulted in me being locked out of the ebanking system.
Incompetence/errors - my agreed overdraft was "locked out" or stopped without any prior notice, warning or explanation, and it took over a week for the error to be corrected and for me to regain the use of the ATM facility.
Long waiting times on hold when you call them for help.
Inconsistency in customer service - one department gives you one story, then puts you through to another who spin you a different story.
Pushy financial advisor for investments.
General Comments
Clearly more bad points than good here. I would recommend investigating other banks that might be able to handle your finances better than Co-op. Whilst I'd like my money to be in an ethical bank, it's hardly viable to do so if the bank are bumbling and incompetent and have hardly any branches.
I am disappointed with my experiences of this bank.
