For many months I had been looking through endless gun mags and web sites trying to find the gun for me. Finally I rested upon either a BSA Super Sport or a Lightning. After much thought and consideration I opted for a .177 Supersport as it was far cheaper and there was no obvious advantages with the Lightning apart from the shorter barrel. I ordered it from JS Ramsbottom.com and I had it two days later. As soon as I had unwrapped it I attached a leapers 3-9 x 40 scope and BSA mounts. I got the scope zeroed within about 30 shots at about 40 metres. After that, using a rest I could make groupings of around the size of a ping pong ball. And it just keeps getting better and better. For pellets I have tried Crossman Accupell, RWS Super Points, RWS Superdomes, AGS domed and Logun Penetrator's. Over all I found the best to be the RWS super point's and the Logun Penetrator's. I couldn't tell the difference when it came to accuracy but when it came to power it was a different story! The Logun pellets drilled almost through my backstop and the RWS super points only went in and got stuck half way. So for target shooting I would recommend the RWS Super points (far cheaper than the Logun Penetrator's) but when hunting without a doubt the Logun pellets are far superior.
So if you are looking for an air rifle that's under £200 then the BSA Super sport is definitely worth a look.
